Pake track fork

Does anyone have one of these?

http://store.citygrounds.com/store/p...eadless-Black/

I bought a leader frame and now I just need a fork/headset. The leader fork is way to expensive for me.

Scrodzilla 06-06-11 09:10 PM

I have about 20 of them. ;)

What frame do you have? If it's anything but the steel 722, the small crown on the Pake fork will look really wonky paired with an oversized head tube and zero stack headset.

the 725tr v2 :\ Will it really look awkward?
I'll be saving around 40ish~ dollars, probs more.

edit: Yeah, a lot more.

It will really look awkward. Do a Google image search - there's no shortage of wack Leader builds in the world.

Yea, I think it would look really weird. You could probably find a carbon fork that would look fine for about $125 on bikeisland, but that might be too much.

Off-topic, but I have a question somewhat regarding the Pake Fork. Since the axle-to-crown length is 383mm and the rake is 38mm, would putting a fork with a 365mm axle-to-crown length and a 40mm rake really mess up my geometry on my Pake Track?

Sorry if I am hijacking your thread. :p

Scrodzilla 06-06-11 10:09 PM

You wouldn't notice a 2mm difference.

PeDDeR27 06-06-11 10:12 PM

Mostly worried about the axle-to-crown length being 18mm shorter on the new fork. Just wondering how much the angles and BB height will change (if at all), and if it'll be a problem or a drastic change.

Scrodzilla 06-06-11 10:20 PM

Which fork are you considering?

PeDDeR27 06-06-11 10:25 PM

Wound-Up, found one for pretty cheap, but I want to make sure that it wouldn't mess with my geometry too much.

pandita 06-06-11 10:33 PM

Is this how it would look like? http://www.flickr.com/photos/objectinc/4272439594/
worst?

Scrodzilla 06-06-11 10:37 PM

That's terrible in my opinion.

pandita 06-08-11 04:03 PM

I just picked up the i806A fork plus a leader seatpost for under 100 brand new on craigslist. Woo.

Scrod, sorry to bring this thread back from the dead… Are you saying the Pake track fork would work with a 722ts alright? I found one set up like that here.. Leader 722ts on velospace, the place for bikes It's basically $100 less than buying a new leader s803 (unless i buy the last ugly gold one from Citygrounds). What do you think?

Scrodzilla 04-19-14 08:59 AM

The Pake fork kinds sucks and is ridiculously heavy.

Why don't you stop trying to do the cheapest thing possible and just buy the right fork?

:roflmao2: Scrod's going into comedy now :)

(not picking on the OP, it's just that this is a situation often faced on this forum)
