Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

n00b needs a rim :(

I bought a brand new '11 draft se lite fs/ss about two weeks ago. Hadn't ridden a bike in something like 8 years and i definitely caught the bug again. Had about 100 miles on the bike, and then saturday afternoon while on a ride with my buddy, he t-boned my rear wheel and bent it beyond repair.

The rim in question was a 700c Alex DC25, and after doing some poking around online, i want to upgrade the set rather than just get something shoddy.

A local shop was trying to push me into a custom built rear wheel with a velocity deep v rim, dc swiss champion 2mm spokes, and my existing fs/ss hub for around $150

I ride SS w/ brakes and bike solely for fun/commuting, so i'm not looking to spend a fortune just to get back on the road.
For the price, i like the origin8 track attack wheels, but i'm afraid that the added weight will make biking uphill even more difficult.
So, i guess in summation, I'm hoping to get some input on which brands i should check out in regards to durability and reasonable cost.
