rear tire talk
I've read about a few different tires that a lot of people use for the rear wheel riding fixed because they are durable for skidding. I was just wondering if any of you have used any of them and how the tire worked?
vittoria randonneur panaracer ribmo panaracer pasella schwalbe marathon fyxation tire thickslick |
gator skin. dont skid, btw. it takes longer to stop and its a waste of tire(money)

I just moved from a vittoria randonneur to a gatorskin on my rear, night and day feel to them. I'm not skidding but both feel good, just different. The gatorskin feels... faster? and the randonneur felt like a tank (in a good way)

for skidding, I doubt you will get a longer lasting tire than a 26mm soma everware.

Gatorskins are fun(:

Schwalbe Ultremo. Don't skid.

Skid all you want. I ride a michelin all city at this point. Fyxations aren't terrible, but they had an almost plastic like feel when skidding.. Everwear is probably the best choice.

My 32mm rando is great for skidding, barely shows the wear at all, but I do feel like it's pretty sluggish compared to the 28mm seca I had on there before.

I run an Everwear and skid pretty regularly and have been riding it for almost 6 months with no issue. However, it might need to be replaced soon. Had one of those cheap ass kendas explode on me before the Everwear, although it was user error because I failed to check it.

skidding is user error
