Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

OT: carpotunnel

So my doctor told me i have arthritis and other joint related issues. As some of you know i suffer from a knee problem called Patellofemoral syndrome from overuse, This was before i started riding bikes, in the 7th grade.

My whole family suffers from joint related issues.

And Lately i've been suffering from wrist pains and slow response from my left hand :|

Anyone else suffer from carpotunnel? My hand feels tired, numb, pretty much unresponsive. Pretty much dead...

It's carpal tunnel...

Well I guess it's risers and townie bars all the way for you.

As for the knee, make sure your leg is not being over stretched in your down pedals while riding by checking your saddle height. It really helps.

I would assume so ^^ but its my left side that is being affected.

My knee problem is actually the worst off the bike, when i run or climb stairs, its when my knee makes the rapid snap back forward, it starts to hurt and pressure builds on my nerve.

Do you wear gloves when you ride? I find that a nice set of padded gloves makes things much more comfy.

I like these:

saddle ANGLE, and don't use the tops of the bars, not ergo IMHO. use the brake hoods and drops. double wrap bars, or just don't wrap the tops.
forgot to mention glucosamine and stuff like that if it applies.
