$200 New Vilano SS any good?

This is being advertised on eBay right now: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_2970wt_1404

I do all my own bike work and even build my own wheels, but a component geek I am not, I'm really only familiar with Shimano. Never heard of Tec9 or Promax; how do they rank?

I'm really tempted to get this bike but could use some feedback; never heard of Vilano either. Your thoughts please!

There is a joke on this forum that almost every question a newbie asks can be answered by either "google it" or "kilo tt". In your case the answer is "Kilo TT". You should spend the extra $100 and get a Mercier Kilo TT from BikesDirect.

I haven't ever seen a Vilano in person so I can't say for sure whether it is crap but people have a low opinion of them and the top tubes do seem to be too long. The components are really cheap but probably not that bad for a $200 bike but you would still be doing much better with the Kilo TT.

Kilo TT worth the extra $. Good steel.

A guy at my work bought a Vilano off of roadbikeoutlet.com and it's heavy, and it's only 50cm.
