Bike is making some odd sounds

Recently I have been dealing with a "creeky" noise coming from my left crank arm, I want to say its the pedals or the crank arm thats attached to my BB.
It is still rideable but just worried about the noise.

If anyone has any help then that'd be much appreciated.

Does it happen just while pedaling under load, or all the time? Does it happen when you pedal standing up, or just when seated? Is the creak timed to the rotation of the crank? There are a lot of things that could cause a creaking sound.

It's probably the BB. I would try re-installing your cranks and BB. If you don't know how then it's a trip to the LBS for you.

My buddy's bike was doing this, and I get quite a few bikes coming in for repairs with this, and most of the time it can be fixed by taking off your crank arms, taking out your BB, cleaning and relubing everything, reinstall it, and make sure everything is tightened down properly. That can be a simple solution to a simple problem, but if it keeps up, definitely get it checked out at your LBS.

Are your pedals tightened? Chainring bolts tightened?

Really? Loose chainring bolts would cause a creak on the left side? I hope you don't work on your own bikes.

Actually, yes I do.

I should have asked this before but do you have the tools to remove your pedals, cranks and bottom bracket? If you do then uninstall, clean and regrease them and reinstall, if you do not, go to a bike shop.

It's like me now saying my head hurts whenever I open my eyes. Well, it could be, overwork, stress, tiredness, hunger, bad diet, age, squinting too hard, need of glasses, change of girlfriend/wife, not enough money, too much money, fatal tumor, blog reading, too many girlfriends, I'm dying, dehydrated, migraine, cluster headaches, anyway, at some point someone will simply tell me to go see a doctor, as I am suggesting, to go to a bike shop.

had this same thing happen to my bike, took it to the LBS, had them take out the BB grease it and put it back together and re-torque the BB, all my chainring bolts, pedals and cranks, took them an hour an cost me $15. Good as new now

Assuming creaking is coming from the bottom bracket, what would happen if the problem is ignored?
