Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I'll start, it's been awhile since I last posted pictures of my '10/'11 Vigorelli.

Absolutely beautiful!

Forgot about this thread. I've made some pretty big changes since my last update so here ya go. Chain slack due to hasty assembly in order to catch the light.

Updated my cockpit this weekend; New TRZ black and silver brake levers/hoods, new bar tape, hand painted my bar plugs, and got new Veloflex tires. I think I'm finally done.

I ignored some advice not to do it and traded my old Ciocc that is in really bad shape for this frameset. Built it from stuff in my spare parts bin, or that I was able to lay my hands on quickly, and borrowings from my buddy who I got it from. Finished this thing on Fri and put a lot of miles on it over the weekend. Words cannot express how happy I am to have this bike. But I do think I will change to drops & hoods when I can find the right ones:

How'd you go about setting up the front brake? I've never seen that clamping-ish device before. Bike looks good by the way.

Something like this? Google "Keirin brake". designed to attach to undrilled frames/forks for off-season road training.

It looks a little odd, yeah, but you understand it immediately when you're sprinting on the track.

You scoot forward and the dipped nose + raised back suddenly make a lot of sense.

I think I have posted this to this thread already, but anyway: my 2009 Vigorelli (commuter class), basking in a late autumn's sunlight. It's not very pretty, or especially light, but it's fast, comfortable*, and a keeper

*never mind the saddle to bar drop, it only looks steep

Noticed there are a few new Cinellis floating around here so thought I'd try to reinvigorate this thread for them with my current set-up:
