Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I hate you, and all of the PNW...

Why does the Bay Area have to miss out on all the best beer from Portland, and still not get all the best beer from San Diego.

I am in the midst of a glass of Alesmith Speedway Stout, which we can get, and is fantastic. I'm sorry Sixty Fiver, but it's better than anything those Canadians make.

Pretty much everything I've tried from Alesmith has been good. I had a bottle of Speedway I aged for a while and it was fantastic.

I do feel lucky in that I live about two miles from the best beer store in Portland - Belmont Station - over 1300 different bottles of beer and always a great selection on tap. https://www.belmont-station.com/

Wow - in fact I just noticed a bourbon aged Old Rasputin on tap. Headed there after work

128oz would be sufficient for most. Quality over quantity man

Broke into my stash tonight and enjoyed 2008 Abyss from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Or. It's every bit the description of: "Stout brewed with licorice and molasses with 33% aged in oak and oak bourbon barrels."

Lately I find myself pouring up some of this local gem:
https://www.aspiringgentleman.com/scotch/scotch-reviews/alberta-springs-10-years-old

But now that December is here it is time to open my bottle of Screech, with some eggnog. Holiday festivities and all that.

Mission St Brown Ale. Good and cheap. If there's one thing to be said for LA, it's really easy to buy good cheap booze.
