Your crankset is likely spinning faster than your legs can move. Change your gearing.

More likely your fit.

Could be either but most likely a crap technique ... which he won't get right until he gets the gearing and the fit sorted. Bit of a circular argument really :roflmao2:

Saddle height being off could contribute to you bouncing around too. The best answer (and the one you're least likely to hear) is experiment a little and figure it out yourself. |
Best way to tension a chain on a SS. I noticed it was sagging a little yesterday, and clanging a bit when I would go over some bigger bumps.

Hey man, the internet seems to indicate that you've got all the answers!!
I'm a bikepolo player and I ride on a 56cm 2008 Madison. Great geometry for the sport. (provided that you slap some 165mm cranks to dodge the toeverlap) Anywho, my frame is busted (crack on junction between headtube and downtube) and I want to replace it with an identical frame. Do you know where to find geometry specs for the 2008? Do you know where I could find the same 56cm frame to replace it? (I've looked all over the internet) I got some clues from this review, but the guy doesn't specify what frame size he was riding http://www.roadbikereview.com/review...n-pro-review/3 I also found the geo for the 2013 madison here, http://pro-bike.ru/product/viewitem/?id=4360 It would lovely if they're the same. Thanks for your time dude! |
I'm pretty sure the numbers on the 2013 Madison were different.
I had a 2008 Maddy and the most similar frame I've ridden in terms of geo is an EAI Bare Knuckle. You may want to take some measurements of your old frame and make compare it to the geo chart. |
Ahh I see. I've already found some differences between the 2013 and 2008, namely the wheelbase which is 968mm for the 08 vs. the 1000mm for the other.
Oddly the wheelbase isn't included in the geo chart for the Bare Knuckle. I'm sure I'll find it somewhere. I wish there was a quick and simple way to find the specs for a variety of frames. Thanks again for you insight. |
Scrod, tire question. Have you had any experience with or know anyone who's had experience with the Thickslick Race folding tires? I've had great luck with previous Thickslicks, never flatted in two years, and i was looking to lose some weight with the folding bead.

Thanks again for you insight. But if you're looking for an '08 replacement Madison frame, find a Schwinn dealer (the bigger the better, to ensure that the sales rep wants to keep the dealer happy) and ask the dealer to ask Schwinn whether they have any of those frames in stock. Companies such as Schwinn usually keep a small number of frames in the warehouse for warranty replacement claims, even for bikes for which framesets were never offered, and a big dealer can sometimes get the company to sell one of those frames. |
Or simply use a time machine.
It would be easier to keep an eye on eBay for a used one. |

I know I'm not you scrod but I need to share. freedom thick slicks suck. I bought a 23c and a 25c, the 23 wasn't round and unless un mounted and re mounted multiple times it always had a bump and the 25 I ran in the rear developed a bulge with in a couple weeks and I had to toss it.flat resistant yes but no quality control.

Hey Scrod, I just ordered the tool for this Octalink BB that's on this Basso. I haven't messed with it yet, but just looking at it, looks chewed up. Any advice on getting it out, without shearing the "teeth" off that or will the tool alone work just fine?

What would happen if you put two spider side crank arms on a bike and had two different gear inches running at the same time?

Depending on how seized the cups are inside the frame iIt may work, it may not. That may be a job for some big Channellock pliers.
Ok cool. Thank you. |
Hey dude, I found the 2008 Schwinn Madison Geo. Figured I'd share!

Is there a torque spec for installing Sugino crank arms?
