It's funny you mention No. 22. A friend of mine here in San Diego was lusting after a Little Wing - and now he wants a Wraith.

Yeah, I've been thinking about a Little Wing, but can't see really doing it. The Wraith seems a lot more practical, and with two water bottle mounts, it's good for longer rides.

So, what is the current lead time on it ? The small size seems perfect for me, very close to my 49cm Soma Rushes.

What are my options as far as non-machined/painted over 650c rims go, that won't break the bank?

I typically just use Velocity Deep V's.
I know H+Son has their two 42mm rims in 650's. Wish they'd either make their Archetype or TB14's in a 650 as well.
Open Pro and CXP's both have visible brake surfaces.
HED, ENVE, Zipp, etc are a little (a lot) out of my price range.

So a lower profile, inexpensive, non-machine side walled 650c rim. I'm assuming that narrows the field by quite a bit, just wondering if there's anything out there that I haven't discovered on my own minimal research.

I'd need to check the stock but I'm pretty sure they've currently got at least one of each size.

FSA C-40 or Cane Creek 40 IS42/52) headset with a carbon plug will work and I'm pretty sure the seatpost collar is 30mm.

Looking ahead to wheelsets for a Wraith, is the outer rim on the Heavy Pedal Tempo carbon wheelset made of aluminum, because I see that I can request a machined braking surface for these wheels ? Also, can these wheels be ordered sans decals ?

The rims are full carbon and the version with a brake surface just has a rougher sidewall. No decals isn't an option but you could always do black on black.

Scrod, is there any way of fitting a front brake to a fork with an invisible brake hole, specifically the the columbus fork you sell? Or am I overlooking something completely obvious here?

Edit: Preferably short of using a keirin broke, don't really fancy clamping something onto a carbon fork

The clamps on Keirin brakes aren't big enough to fit on carbon forks anyway.

Removing the brake hole plug on the front of the Columbus fork is really easy and takes less than five minutes using a drill.

Glad you asked! We've now got the Dyad and Aileron in 650b as well.

Two things:

1. This isn't the 'ask seely' thread.
2. He asked about 650C rims, not 650B.

Velocity Fusion and A23 are available in 650c, as well as the Kinlin XR300 but they all have a machined sidewall. If you want non-machined you'll need to go with a Deep V, Formation Face or SL42.

Those are shown on Look's website, but that's the only place I can find any info about them. Google Searching doesn't pull anything up. Can't find them for sale ANYWHERE. Can't even find them on eBay. The only photos online are from Look's product page about them.

I know you guys carry Look frames, pedals, and cleats on your page...so I was wondering if you know about the availability and MSRP for these.

I've never seen them and they're not listed on Look's US dealer site so unfortunately I can't be of much help with that one.

Scrod, do you see Retrogression taking another look at Leader frames again, with the new 721 and Cure re-designs, along with what might be the new 735 (if that new Undefeated racing concept is the new 735), and possibly carrying them again if they are up to snuff? Serious question.

Why would we ever do that? Leader went out of their way to **** me, my shop and the entire San Diego fixed gear community over on many levels and it's not something anyone is going to suddenly overlook.

They can keep doing all the half-assed collaborations they want with hip clothing brands and headphone companies - none of which will give them any more legitimacy as a bike manufacturer.

Also, they're owned by Brotures now. Let them peddle that "urban lifestyle" crap to fools in Japan.

I noticed on your site that you have the Miche cranks and BB listed as being ISO.

Also- how do you feel about these cranks? Is the BB any good or will it fall apart on me in no time?

The ones we have are the older ISO version (like it says on the 'more info' tab on our site).

Angie's been using a set on her Vigorelli for over 3 years without any issues at all. I know a few other people in town who really like them as well.

The Miche BB is as good as any other mid-range cartridge BB. People like to freak out about how the adjustable cups don't like to stay in place but the secret sauce is blue Loctite, just like you'd use on Phil Wood cartridge BB cups.

What's the scoop on this IRD brand? I was looking at their Defiance crankset, because it's pretty economically priced, and looks really cool.

For the threaded headset, you wrote "Hands-down one of the finest threaded headsets on the market...". On another website, I read their bottom bracket is comparable, and if not better in some aspects to Phil's, yet it's about half the price.

So are they actually premium quality at a mid-level price?
