OP it's very simple. The easier it is to pedal, the easier it will be to stop pedaling and skid. If you can't do it at 47x19 though, its not the bike, it's you. HTFU.
Run a gear you are comfortable with, rock a brake, and if you haven't done so already... learn how to spin.

After that, do you have a sister you can borrow some jeans from ?

That's what I'm saying. If you can't skid on that gear, you either need to ride some hills and get stronger legs, or look at your foot retention because something isn't right.

You can't skid 65gi??? Angie - who is 5'3" and weighs 110 lbs - can skid 74gi without any trouble.

I'm no doctor but it sounds like you need a healthy dose of HTFU.

I know. I don't even want to think about how hard it would be to start/stop. But think about how fast you could go!

That would be harder. The closer the two numbers are to each other, the easier the gearing is.

Really though, you shouldn't change it to make it easier. Just stop being weak.

Just practice some more, your current gearing should be plenty easy to skid on. 47x16 would be harder.
