Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

a middle-aged roadie's impressions of critical mass

https://abrtcycling.blogspot.com/2011...halloween.html

a good read for anyone who participates in, has considered, or loathes critical mass. it's nice to hear someone acknowledge the "counter culture" of cycling, good bad and ugly, and have a blast anyway, especially from someone so far removed from most of us punk kids on our tarck bikes.

Haha wow. That was hilarious.

I especially like how he wore khaki cargo shorts and a reflective vest because he was afraid his lycra kit wouldn't have enough 'street cred'.
