Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Spread 'Em!

My spinergy rear wheel 130mm. My frame is 120mm. It fits when I spread it, but should I be worried?

I think I can grind down the axle ends (rather than cold set a beautiful track frame for FILTHY road spacing) of the wheel. But you know, if I don't have to I'd rather not.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn't worry about it.
How did you 'fix' your Spinergy? I have a set of Spinergies that's been hanging off my rafters for the last 5 years. I can't even give them away.....comes with a Campy freehub body.

If you're having trouble giving them away, I would certainly be able to help

As for the spacing... how is the rear axle/bearing assembly constructed? Any chance of just swapping out parts (like locknuts) with some funky old wheel to respace?

Mine had a threaded freehub body, so it was easy. The wheel already has zero dish. There's some data on putting a surly fixxer on the shimano cassette body, but I think with the campy freehub, you're up a poop creek without a paddle, so to speak.
