I would have preferred they had kept the bottle mounts on the DT, however.

Can't quite finish it yet. Threaded steerer cutting guide tool not due until Thursday and need to go to lbs to get one more tube, but should be finished by this weekend. Meanwhile, I've made some progress:

Yes, I certainly do. Four wheel vehicles are just practical transport and I find them rather boring. Two wheels OTOH, are pure joy and sport.

Anyways, more pics. This is about as far as I can go at this time. Also, I made a mistake and won't be able to use the Dirty Harry brake lever I got from RG, because the Nitto riser bars are 24mm at the grips, instead of the 22.2mm I was expecting. The weld joint between the seatstay and dropout is a disappointment with a big blob of weld instead of the smooth filed finish of my old Rush. Seems like the finishing details on the new Rush are not as nice as the old ones. The chrome plate is well done, however.

Well, it's done. It's raining right now so I'm not going to ride it and get it all dirty, but took a few pics to show how it came out. I decided not to cut down the steerer tube right now, so that I've got more options with stem height.

Well, finally the sun came out and I had a chance to ride this beauty. The only adjustment that was needed was to tilt the nose of the Brooks saddle up a bit more. I almost dumped it making a u-turn when I forgot that a fat front tire plus toe clips means a lot more toe overlap. The mid 60s gearing is perfect for this more casual setup.

Sweet build Tejano. I mocked up a very similar component list when I first saw the new 2014 Rush frame for a future build, hopefully once I start making some extra money I can put it together.

I am a sucker for chrome bikes and mostly love your build, not to mention that seeing how great it looks makes it difficult to fight the impulse to snatch up one of those frames.

But your 1st pic demonstrates one of the reasons why I never liked Brooks saddles all that much. I am sorry but I find the nose pointed at the sky like that unattractive. I understand that may be how one needs to set a Brooks for comfort, but to me it is simply the reverse of guys pointing their saddles down for their comfort and they get mocked.

Why is one kind of odd saddle angle OK, while another is fodder for riducule?

BTW...how long you planning to keep that black brake lever

Bump. I've cut down the brake housing so it no longer rubs on the front of the stem and allows a clear view of the Soma headbadge when viewed from the front. It also makes the brake cable operation smoother.

Thanks for the offer, but I've already got a silver lever that's currently mounted on my Vilano that I could use if I wanted to. The problem is that although the lever is silver, the clamp and barrel adjuster are still black, which IMO looks even worse. Since the cable housing is also black, I think the all black lever looks better and less obvious in this case, so I'm going to leave it as is, especially now that I've added a black bell on the other side of the riser bar.
