Can't help with your question. I was a coffee snob long before I started riding seriously or got a FG bike.
Personally, I would like to see what the correlation is with FG riders and 70% (and higher) chocolate.

Hipster bar and coffee shop in florida.
there is pretty much a cyclist only bar in atl to, I just dont feel like resizing the pics i have. really big parking lot full of skid marks, no cars in it.lots of places to lock up bikes outside.

As Minchin said, praying before a sporting event and winning does not mean that god took time out from torturing and killing babies in Africa to ensure your team's win.
I also like to enjoy coffee when I am walking, driving, or riding a non fixed gear bicycle.
I prefer dark chocolate for it's richer flavour and higher kick and it does seem that many of the cyclists I know and associate with also prefer dark chocolate, especially when it is organic and fair trade.

I was diagnosed as "hyperactive" at age 3 and my parents began feeding me coffee three times a day, and at 4 years old they bought me my first bike. I just figured they went together....
BTW: Chocolate is best experienced at body temperature, so let it melt and savor it, don't just bite off a piece and swallow it.

Everyone knows that coffee is a universal solvent. FG riders are anal about keeping their chains clean. Therefore, it's good to have coffee around to clean your chain at a moment's notice.

Where I go to school, the people at the smaller, local coffee shops are a lot cooler than the ******** who work in the chain shops. Its that simple for me and a lot of places like that in general.

In Italy, even the rest stops on the Autostrada have better coffee than Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. Unfortunately, it's not really possible to ride a bike to one.

If you need to draw a connection, it's probably just liking things that are cool. Or at least things that are not the mainstream. Generally speaking, you local coffee place is going to have better/fancier coffee than Dunkin Donuts. That's just true. And these same people with slightly more sophisticated tastes also enjoy other things that are just enough off the beaten path to be considered cool. Biking would fit that profile.

In my area, the roadies are the ones filling the coffee shops on the weekend rides.
In my area, the only ssfg I see are dummies walking their bikes down the sidewalk and the brakeless retentionless fools.
Also, I've been drinking coffee/espresso before I bought a road bike, let alone a fixed gear. Maybe I'm just a hipster or I drink coffee like most people.
