Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

MASH transit was all hyping them up and everything about having them custom done and in super limited quantities. Fast forward some 2 odd+ years and they still have them up for sale.

There was another one at the Red Hook Crit this year. I just hope it is not just a CAAD10 with track ends and no geo change.

That front end looks pretty slack. He's got like a 140mm stem, 110mm head tube and the front of the bars still isn't over the front axle. But that's just eyeballing it.

This has been rumored for almost a year, good to finally see some pictures.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that Cannondale wouldn't put their pro riders onto a velodrome on a road bike with track ends.
They have experience making track frames, I'm pretty sure they're using it.

It's also not drilled for a rear brake. Good sign it's a bonafide track racing frame.

That's the thing, on a bike that small, if it had track geo, there would be overlap.

The slack head tube and fork offset push the wheel away from the BB.

Pushing the wheel further forward just means you get to the finish line sooner .

I think that was just a road CAAD10 with an EBB, but I don't have my pics from the event handy.

The CAAD5 track's front end was the same as the CAAD5 road, just with a longer headtube to reflect the higher BB. Assuming this isn't a one-off I wouldn't be surprised if Cdale does the same with the CAAD10. Whatever the case may be:

The bike was designed to use bullhorns that rise up just over the tire-line.

This was back before the UCI (the cycling world's governing body) got all strict about bike design.

Whoever has this bike installed deep drops for lulz.

As goofy as the bike looks, when using the right bars, the rider's position is similar to what we'd use today.
