Damn, I was just going to post that Alliance. It's perfect. No frills, just a really well executed bike with a nice, understated paint job and solid parts. That builder is definitely on my radar if I ever get a job that's not with a stingy nonprofit

so relevant.

Can we all agree that porn is something that we desire, but usually can never acquire? This would be my example of porn:

Unbelievable. http://www.njs-export.com/2011/08/an...-champion.html A beautiful Anchor in purplish blue. My size. The geometry is perfect. The tube lengths are perfect. Used by World Champion Australian Keirin race Jobie Dajka when he raced professionally in Japan. Near mint condition. ~$5000 USD. So ****ing worth it. So out of reach. I would do despicable things to raise money for that bike if I was two notches crazier. |
So you're saying that removable sticker (it's over the clearcoat) is worth some $4200+....

[/img] The fact that that raced professionally, in Japan, by a world champion, is what makes it worth it to me. |

As prestigious as it may sound; I'm pretty sure every time Mr. Worldchampion got on that bike, it was ridden to the ground, losing 3 years of useful life every time.

This means another brew of coffee is to be made. |

I somehow managed to misinterpret your posts on this page up until now; I thought you wanted to buy it primarily for the reason of riding it this entire time :twitchy:
This means another brew of coffee is to be made. I fall, a lot. Like two, OTB, really hard (no broken bones), high speed wrecks since I started riding in August. I just actually dented my top tube, and I can see why people spend $50 on top-tube protector. I prefer steel because the frames seem to be more resilient, and NJS are my favorite steel bikes. What I am saying is, I would do my best to baby the frame, but I will not ride it like a *****. The fact that its performance is hindered because it has been ridden so hard by a professional is what makes it attractive to me. I would honestly take this frame over: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1008/...86df034d18.jpg Not because of utility, but because I'm weird, and if I'm spending a luxurious amount on a frame, I want it to mean something to me. A pro used frame, even though inferior in pure performance, is something really cool to me. Think about Nascar. How many opportunities do you get to get behind the wheel of DEJr.'s car? |
Ehhh... most of these bikes don't belong in bike porn. This is REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAL bike porn
