Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yeah, it is.

I know the type. They buy a $10,000+ race bike that they ride to coffee shops to get attention from and impress other dudes. DUDES.

I remember that sweet fixay with iO front & bmx risers & stem...

And from my visit there, the amount of fully loaded corolla's (insert economical vehicle model) here who's sticker price rivals that of a base European car...

there's some people in my ride groups running crazy ratios, 52/15, 55/16, 52/14, etc, but they do the 30-50 mile rides with them. I'm waiting for one to blow a knee out

there's a low I saw on tumblr that must've cost 4gs

edit: found it

Those are absolutely ridiculous for street riding... I would hate to be the guy who's knee blows out while they are making an emergency stop....

a few are really into hitting these strava sprints and so have them on specifically for that I'm guessing, as I ride with them at 49/16 with no issues.
