Wow, that seems to violate common design criteria. Cantilevering the BB like that reduces triangulation and therefore rigidity. You can see where they have gusseted the sides of the BB to maintain some lateral rigidity. Very interesting.

Thanks, that is what I thought. They are also used on low racers like the Nocom. This one has splitter plates for both wheelshttp://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=361218
