Those pedals are Cinelli M71's, which were the very first clipless pedals that were introduced even before Look made them really popular. They were the very first clipless pedals that I used on the track, and I still have two sets of them sitting in my parts bin.

I second the question regarding the "tape" around the wheels
I also wonder: are the rims painted to llook like wood?
Nitpickery: grips could match the saddle better

they started out the same color, either the saddle is used (seasoned with ass juice) or the owner just rides on the tops/flats

Tape was used to help keep the tires from rolling off the rims from what I've read.

Maybe they had just glued the tubular tires. I don't think you could make a clincher type wheel out of wood.

iirc when all there were was wooden rims they were all glued, but i could be wrong. i think the clincher came after the tubies
