Those pedals are Cinelli M71's, which were the very first clipless pedals that were introduced even before Look made them really popular. They were the very first clipless pedals that I used on the track, and I still have two sets of them sitting in my parts bin.

they started out the same color, either the saddle is used (seasoned with ass juice) or the owner just rides on the tops/flats

rims are laminated beech (aka wood)

came across this bike last year and thats just what my mind logically came up with and never crossed my mind it was for anything else
iirc when all there were was wooden rims they were all glued, but i could be wrong. i think the clincher came after the tubies
