Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? His inspiration shows, well. You are quite good. Please keep posting pics

My cousin did a workshop with Adams in California. He invited a few of them to his house and showed them his darkroom and such. Did a few proofs - ripped one in half and threw it into the microwave to dry it. My cousin asked if she could have it. Signed and framed in her living room now.

Rowell was one of my hero's. He was a runner, would get up before dawn, run 10 miles at high mountain altitude to some location just to bracket a few shots during the "Magic moment" just before/after dawn. Many National Geographic cover shots that way. Died in a small plane crash. Check out his book Mountain Light.

why thank you sir id love to go to ansels studio someday, he grew a great love in me for yosemite.

pre-dawn trekking is what it takes to get the money shots. i think that helped me become a morning person honestly. might be how i can tolerate 4 hrs or so riding before dawn on a "transport stage" to get to the actual ride

i think i may actually have had that rowell book in my amazon list for a while now

Back home for a bit. There are hills in N. Florida. I live in the boonies but there's a 7 mile greenway that takes me into town. Fun gravel trails that are doable on a road bike, real fun and curvy. ft. terrible porch

Ride in Panama City with my brother this morning. he on the fatbike, me on the clown bike.

The colorful building is the "Museum of Biodiversity" designed by Frank Gehry.
The Panama Canal is in the background of us posing with the bikes.

I'm usually a fan of unorthodox architecture but that building makes me want to punch something. maybe I'm just grumpy.

Yeah, not gonna argue there. Not my cup of tea either, but apparently its a "must do" photo when in PTY.

Can you tell me what that is in the seventh picture? It looks like some kind of Hindu shrine or memorial?

Just a few from this past weekend...finally got to ride the mountain bike again.

I was trying to be all cool and slide my back tire, unfortunately, I just ran into a cactus.

Me picking thorns out of my wheel, woohoo for tubeless.

My buddy took his cross bike out...I was very impressed at his bike handling skills. I have 2.2" 29er tires and I was washing out in the soft sand and he stayed upright the entire time.

Fat biking in Whistler. The conditions were not that great for the biking, but the scenery was incredible. And, that truck in the parking lot was too cool not to post.

Haha, thanks!

There's a couple of full moon road rides near me but I've never heard of mtb one. I'd love to take it out at night though, this summer for sure.

More shots from the local greenway that I use to get into town. About 10 miles of trails like these, and a few water stops too. Very convenient and a nice place to ride because it's not very busy most of the time I'm riding it (evenings and night on weekdays). I rode to a shop I used to work at and hung out there for a bit, got ****ing poured on when I went home though. Cold rain too . Also, dead snek.
