Sorry I can't figure out how to directly post the picture from my iPhone and forgot to take a drive side photo, but at least the pic is hi resolution and not oriented sideways.

It's a Nitto Dynamic 626 with about an inch (25mm) of setback. I think the photo is deceiving.

Here's a quick video my buddy put together from our bikepacking trip...

Ed, I finally watched this and really enjoyed it.
Please tell your friend I said thanks for making it.
Expected Clint Eastwood to ride out on a horse any second. The desert landscape is so foreign to me.
And now I will scroll over aaaaaaaaall the way to the right and hit submit ----->

I did 4.5 hours in +100f Yesterday. I'm guessing ~30 miles. Lots of breaks in the shade. It's 8.75 miles from my house to the lake. I drank my whole 24oz water bottle before I even got there. Drank about 1 gallon while I was out.
One of my summer houses.
And the back yard

Thanks
That thing just keeps getting sexier.
I also recently changed tires and upgraded to the type of tire that I though I'd never allow myself to buy. Stupid expensive. But the hype turned out to be true. It would be hard to go backwards now.

Rode with a couple of friends up north, some super super nice roads out there.
The road going down into Mt. Tamalpais watershed was closed to cars, so we were able to take up the whole road.
5 hours into ride and chill, and he gives you this look
Another pic of them suffering
"Yo pretend to stop dying for a little bit and try to look badass I want to take a photo"
Here I am contemplating life at the top of the road closure. We're in the middle of Mt. Tamalpais state park by now
Taking in the scenery
I'm waiting for friends to descend at the intersection here, double checking the map.

Hot day in the saddle but good company. ~55 miles and almost 3000 ft climbing.
The blue Giant Propel was a gorgeous bike. Carbon but with a classic look due to a level top tube.
Much of the ride was like this...

Went for a quick spin around my neighborhood, hit up La Mirada Regional Park. It has a lake.
Back in the day - early to mid 80's - it had an open BMX track. I used to practice and race on that track. Now, it's all gone except for a slight incline where the first berm used to be. It made me smile that grass doesn't grow there.

I grew up there. Used to play Frisbee golf there. Is the course still there?
There is a big hill over by the library that we used to sled down on cardboard in the rain and mud.

Yup. It now has a "hole" right where the BMX track gate used to be, and another down by what used to be the second berm. There are always people playing frisbee golf.

I was there from birth to until after high school. When I moved out of the parents house I bopped around different parts of OC for a while until finally settling in Tustin for 15 years. Then ten years ago I moved here, 83835. Big change. I miss So Cal.

Hit up some gravel over the weekend. Took a new – to me – route through a nearby state park and got deep in the woods when the hills got serious. Found out that 80 gear inches fixed is not the best way to ride off road and maybe you should research a trail first.
Plenty of big downhill sections turned into technical turns at the bottom only to go straight back up. I slogged my way up almost everything but had to walk two short sections once momentum stopped, traction failed and all my weight wouldn't turn the crank.
Needless to say it was pretty damn fun. I need a different bike.
