It's great when it snows in houston, doesn't matter if it's 2 flakes or a trillion, you get the day off.
And they have warnings on the TV if there are flurries even if the temperature is above freezing.
There was a fantastic freeze there in 98 or 97 though. The skyscrapers there have no ice buildup prevention so when the freezing rain got frozen it built up tremendous SUV sized chunks of ice near the tops of a bunch of buildings. The next day when it warmed up they had to close downtown because of all the falling ice. BIG chunks of falling ice. A dozen people ended up in hospital from watching falling ice chunks and not seeing the much smaller pieces heading straight for them. It was hilarious (not folk being hurt, just the way they acted)A large chunk would hit a moving car or SUV and they'd pull over and get into shouting matches about who hit who (answer: nobody dumass)

Yeah, thanks to all the Old Tymers who are still around in this place, and esp thanks the newer forumeers - without you, we would still be making fun of poor William Karsten.

Merry fiX-mas to all!
Like the title of the thread states. Merry X-mas or happy holidays or whatever it is that you celebrate this time of year. To the righties and the lefties, to the fixed and as well to the uncleansed geared folk, best to you and yours!

I wish you a merry Christmas, a happenin' Channuka, a rocking Ramadan, a crazy Kwanzaa, or enjoyable other wintertime festival, should you choose to celebrate one.

Merry Christmas to you all. I'm at work, but thinking about bikes.
I had a Miyata built for my present this year.

(Done in the proper accent)
I'll have a fixed Christmas,
without gears..
I'll have a fixed Christmas
without brakes...
Though the roads may be cold
and the tires pretty old...
