Reflectors, lights etc etc. Does the singlespeed/fixed community on here use any of the recommended safety gear?. If no state why, if yes why and your setup please.
Please excuse the title typo. It's 2:30 in the morning, just realized I can't fix it lol.

I have a neon green Nixon track jacket that I usually wear if I'm biking at night. Also my bag has reflective strips built in. Other than that just lights. Oooo, and this jackass old cateye reflector I salvaged off my old Raleigh that attaches to the seat stay. I doubt that does much though.

I have a couple of Safety Green T-shirts but they're always under my black shells this time of year. One of my shells has a little reflective patch on the sleeve but that doesn't do much good.
At night and dark days I always run a PB Beamer 3 on the front, PBSF stealth and a cateye blinkie on the back.
A couple of bikes with various reflectors. Since we're in SSFG, one of my single speeds has GT platforms with reflectors on.

Our campus is pretty well lit, even the roads that are a little off campus, so I only strap a few old reflector strips that have red blinky's built in (only used on my back when on the road). Haven't gotten hit yet.

Blinkies front and rear, I used to have spokelights, my windshell and gloves both have reflectors, and I have a bright orange cycling cap.

Never. I immediately strip my bikes of all reflectors.
I don't ride at night.

1500 lumen nightrider on the front; 300 lumen nightrider as a "lowbeam"; 3 blinkies in the back and one on my Vandal. Otherwise, I don't bother with extra **** cause I'm already blinding the drunks I see routinely after work.

Front & rear light + bright shirt/reflective jacket for nighttime riding.
I imagine that people who ride brakeless also don't use lights or hi-vis jackets. There I said it.

For road rides, I wear a hi-vis jersey, either yellow or green. If it is overcast, I also use a blinkie clipped to my jersey pocket or to the bike.
For off-road rides, I wear the hi-vis jersey and use a bear bell strapped to the handlebar. It is better to make noise than to surprise a wild animal (we have bears and coyotes and a few other things here.
On today's MTB ride, I came across two guys shooting skeet across the trail. They had backed their pickup up to the trail barrier and ran a drop-cord to the thrower. They stopped shooting when I came down the trail because they heard the bell between shots. Had a nice conversation with them, and they thought it was cool to see someone out on a bike (this is a VERY low-traffic area, I have been riding in this area off-and-on since 1990 and have NEVER seen another cyclist).

for general riding around town, no, just lights at night and the reflective bits on my messenger bag. though on second thought, i did put some reflective tape on the backs of my pedals, and my rear rim is a deep v halo...
i have a really garish hi-vis canari jersey that i wear a bunch for longer rides on busy roads; dunno if it's placebo effect, but i def. FEEL more visible wearing it.

My mess bag was high viz and I wear hi viz anklebiters to keep my pants tight around my ankles. Also, if it's after dark I always use a headlight and tail light.
