Reynolds 725 vs. Columbus Spirit OS

How do the two compare? Thinking about a new FG bike that I'd use for road training as well as around town commuting. Are both durable enough for everyday use, being locked up, and put next to other bikes on a bus/shuttle?

It's a steel bike. No matter what grade it is, you will be able to ride it around town, train on it, lock it up, and use it every day. It's up to you whether or not you have enough money that you'd risk having it stolen or dented.

To clarify: is Columbus Spirit more prone to dents and damage than Reynolds 725? Are both definitely more damage resistant than a basic aluminum frame?

Are we talking about standard 725 or 725OS?

Oversized tubes are more prone to denting--not because they're oversized, but because the greater area moment of inertia of a larger diameter tube allows thinner walls to be used without compromising structural integrity.

In that case, 725 will most likely be more dent resistant.

There is a builders subforum, where this question will have a very very good answer waiting.
