Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Campy bottom bracket quality / upgrade question

Other than weight...is there any real difference from veloce to centaur?

I picked the veloce BB b/c it was cheaper (and all the LBS had) and was curious if centaur was all that much of an upgrade.

Only thing I read was that the veloce cups may be harder to work vs the centaur.

Any experience or opinions with either/both?

Is the veloce a ball bering bb?

I have the centaur and it is fantastic. The cups are indeed easier to work with. I expect mine to last for a long time.

Yeah, found more info and all suggesting centaur is a lot better.

Probably take the veloce back.

centaur bb @ $42 (if you spend another $15 on other things). UK seller, totally legit, generally very good Campy prices, tires too.
