Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Pitch for Tony at IRO

For those considering a rear wheel, give Tony at IRO a look. Bought a Velocity Aero laced to an IRO hub from them, wheel came true and smooth as silk and right on time.Price was very reasonable and the service was extremely good. Haven't been able to ride it yet but can't wait!

I don't think I've ever enjoyed doing business with anyone as much as Tony. If you live in the metropolitan area and are thinking of buying anything from him, you owe it to yourself to go out and visit him on Staten Island. Operations like his make a communist like me want to believe in capitalism.

Fixies are generally only ridden by die-hard socialists. They are occasionally acceptable when used as transportation to the coup for the populist forces overthrowing 3rd rate despots. Vegans too. Che!

Props to Tony, he hooked me up with a better deal than he had to on a rear wheel, and if it wasn't for him my first fixie would not be happening.

I can't believe people are still buying Bianchi Pistas when the IRO is available to them at same price but at a much better quality.

would you say that one of the two basic fixed gears from IRO would be the best deal on a new complete fixie? i was planning on buying a new complete when i get my tax return back and was thinking about either a bianchi pista or one of these guys. if there are better deals out there i havent seen them but it's looking like i am leaning towards the iro complete.
