GT GTB opinions?
Anybody have thoughts or comments on the GTB track bike? I know GT stopped making them, why was that? I'd love to hear from any satisfied or unsatisfied riders, 'cause I'm thinking of picking one up used.

i like mine quite a lot. i really don't have anything bad to say about it, but at the same time i don't have much to compare it with, because it's the only track steed i've ridden. the angles are just right for my tastes...agressive but not uncomfortable for longish rides. the wheelbase is tight but not limiting. BB height is great, haven't had a pedal strike in a long time.

i don't have much experience with proper track bikes, mostly just road conversions, and i'd like my next bike to get me around town as well as be fun to ride -- sort of multi-purpose. do you ride yours on roads and does it handle those well? or do you think it wouldn't do as well as an all-purpose bike?

I like mine (51cm seat tube / 53cm top tube) alot but I feel it's a bit too small so I'm going to look for a larger one. I've grown more partial to steel frames, yet my GT has a place in my heart because it's so cool looking. The next one I see that's a size larger I have to pick up!

I've put about a thousand on mine over the past nine months. Mostly used for 10-20 mile rides as one of my commuters with the occasional weekend spins.
I usually ride a 55-56 cm road bike, the GTB is a 52 and I'm comfortable with the fit. My only objection/disappointment with my current set up in the front fork, I'll be swapping it for a carbon one at some point.

an all arounder? perhaps not. i'm not sure i would want to ride a century on it. i'm working on getting a winter ride together to give the GTB the winter off, but i'd say it's a great three season bike...
i ride it on the street and like it just fine...but if you do a lot of loooong rides, it might not be your cup of tea (nor any other true track frame, really)...
