Drop Bars

Hey Guys, Im looking into getting a new set of drop bars. Im looking for a pair with a slight bend to the top but are 26mm for my stem. The problem Im running into is that it seems all the ones I find that I like, are are 31.8. Can anyone recommend me a pair? Thanks!

Something that is similar to these:

Price range around $40-$60 if possible.

Unless you plan on riding in the drops all the time, track drops aren't very practical (and uncomfortable) for use on the street. There are countless road drop handlebars available with a 26.0 clamp. I really like my Nitto M176.

well if you don't mind getting a new stem, my personal favorite is the Deda Zero100. Not a very deep drop, and not a very far or excessive reach allowing a comfortable ride on the hoods as well.

Considering his budget for bars is $40-60, throwing the cost of a new stem on top of $100+ bars doesn't seem like what he's looking to do.

Oops, totally neglected that line sorry mate! I did get my bars for 10 bucks, sooo not sure of the actual value on them.

I agree with his suggestion on those nittos. I haven't used them myself, but I have heard great things.

Another is the Soma Hwy1's https://store.somafab.com/hwyonebar.html

Heard loads of good things about those as well.

My Nitto B123s are hella uncomfortable for anything longer than 20 miles. Come to think of it: track drops are like Aerospokes - impractical but look cool!

If aesthetics is a higher priority for you than comfort then look at the Soma 456.

Everything.

OP, get these: https://www.retro-gression.com/produc...drop-handlebar

Flat top or "wing style" bars are the shizznit.

Whats the idea behind these bars having such fat clamp sizes? Is it cause cyclists these days prefer to grab onto thicker bars? Beefy bottom bracket/downtube effect?

Stiffness. And, to actually answer the OP's question:

I may have screwed up.. I ordered B123s for my new build and maybe I'm asking for trouble. I haven't built up the bike yet so maybe I should choose something more comfortable? I also have the Fyxation comet bars mentioned above. I didn't use them for very long & didn't have any major issues but I haven't ridden big miles either.

Any better choices for drops? are Nitto B125 a little more road friendly?

Track drops will never be "road friendly". If you're lusting after Nitto dropss that will be comfortable, go with the B177 Noodle, B176 Dream or B115 Classic.

Thanks.... I'll check those out. I think WAS hooked in by the many bikes I've seen with B123 bars. Fortunately, I had a long cooling off period waiting for parts to come in.

Track drops most definitely look cool but they're just not practical on the street because the only comfortable hand position is in the drops.

i ride with track drops daily and find them to be perfectly comfortable. if i need to be alert and able to see a bit more of my surroundings, the shoulders work just fine. i also ride with the stock road drops on the kilo and am perfectly fine on those as well.

i started with bull horns, then got some road bars, and went to track drops. i guess you just have to be a little flexible. big portions of my ride are long uninterrupted stretches so it's easy to just cruise in the drops.

just another opinion.

lol. based on specs, would my existing fyxation bars be any more practical or just as bad?

https://www.fyxation.com/products/cat...track-drop-bar

- Drop: 140mm
- Reach 80mm
- Width: 40, 42cm

B123: 170mm drop, 108mm reach

Yes, because nearly the entire top is curved and there really isn't any "hood" position.

These are a great bar, especially if you like to spend time in the drops and climb / accelerate from them.
