Anyone here deliver sandwiches for Jimmie john's ?
If so do you like, or is there anything thing you want to tell me about it?
I got hired by the place for part time work. I also was offered a freelance gig with a local newspaper. So I need money for my computer and a camera stuff, so that means delivering sandwiches.

yes, they have like 3 guys on bikes here. The manager loves cyclists.
One in Atl has a gang of guys on bikes.

I've always wanted to go see if one of the campus JJ's would hire me to deliver on bike... school's always way too busy, though.

That's really cool that they do that. OT but there is always (what looks like) a gold Kilo TT stripper with a white spok' in the front and Pedal Consumption and "Ride Fixed" stickers sitting locked outside a Trader Joes in my neighborhood. Probably a guy who works there, never had the courage to ask.

I was just talking to a friend about this. I might try to work there over winter break. I make minimum wage right now, I may as well get to ride my bike at the same time...

IIRC someone here worked for them and was complaining that they weren't allowed to ride brakeless on the job. I thought it was funny as heck that they were upset about that.

I used to work for Jimmy Johns before I moved for school. It was awesome getting payed to ride my bike. I was only making minimum wage, but I usually got a lot of money in tips. Theyre still going to make you memorize the menu, teach you how to do all the in shop duties, and clean everything... so you're not just there for deliveries, they make sure you are busy cleaning or doing something in shop. Try to work during the lunch or dinner rush because that is when you'll make the most deliveries and get the most tips. Don't work as someone who closes the store at the end of the day cause you'll be there past 1am. They told me it would only take 30 minutes to close, but it took us 1.5-2 hours to put everything away and clean. It also depends on the people you work with. One of my managers was funny and great to work with and when the owner was working as the manager he was a giant ******. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but toot toot, I rode faster than the other deliverers so I could come back and get more deliveries before they could, well everyone noticed what I was doing so they made sure we were taking even turns and the same amount of deliveries. Oh and I rode brakeless and so did the others and the managers didnt care. And also you get to meet cool people and I would also get tips in various other forms than money, such as beer and other things...

Okay. Now we have a thread that praises Jimmy John's for having fixed delivery carriers. That being said, there was one that chided Jimmy John's for having irresponsible delivery cyclist kiddies on fixed for being brakeless and not obeying traffic law.

I worked for JJ a couple years ago and it was the worst job I ever had. I started no-showing after about 3 weeks of slow shifts, getting stiffed on deliveries, being forced to work in-shop for half as much pay as the rest of the staff when no orders were being called in, and making that disgusting tuna salad.

I worked at JJ for about 2 weeks and got treated like crap so I quit. Pay was less than the behind the counter staff, but I had all of the same responsibilites when I wasnt delivering. I was required to use my own cell phone time to call customers. I got chastised for being wet behind the counter on rainy days. I was intentionally given the crap orders because I was new. It was a pile of crap.
