Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

If you got the dosh, hit up geekhousebikes.com in Boston for a triple-tri, bent downtube, pursuit frame they make. It looks delicious

But can they make it with an out-dated-no-longer-in-production-long-surpassed-in-quality tube set?

I am sure that for a $2k frame & fork they can accomodate most of your requirements. I'd have the tubing stuffed with fried bacon: your BB & headset will always be well greased!

Older steel alloys for bicycles were optimized for the popular joining methods of the time: lugs and hand brazing. Modern steel alloys for bicycles are optimized for modern joining methods: automated TIG welding. All are high quality steel alloys and ideally suited for use in bicycles.
