scam? or not?

hi there everyone, I just came across this the other day. look at the prices...$400 for a bianchi pista steel? $240 for a langster steel? does anyone know this place or have any experience buying from here? I e-mailed them and they said that shipping is free on the first order. I know, I know, sounds too good to be true but....still hoping . www.bicyclefocus.com/track-bikes

It does seem quite odd. The Aluminum specialized Langster has an MSRP of $720 (on specialized web site) but this web site claims an MSRP of $500, and they are selling the Al Langster for $300. That is 60% off the price of a new Specialized bike.

An aluminum specialized Langster for less than the price of a steel Kilo TT. Something doesn't add up.

Looking at the home page, it sounds like these are just like the guys who make the $10 Rolex watches, here they have taken that business model to making cheap knockoff bikes. They can't even spell very well in English.

Telephone number puts them in China. So it's not the usual Indonesian scam. But it does look like a scam: https://www.bikeradar.com/forums/view...005&t=12848731

I have bought LED lights from DealExtreme (https://www.dealextreme.com/), shipped from China. Not the highest quality product, but given how infrequently I use the lights, it was either that or nothing. Just expect long shipping times, and dont' plan on customer service or product returns if you don't like what you get.

Still, selling a bike like Bianchi or Specialized through non authorized distribution channels (which makes it likely a knockoff) is a copyright infringement.

Based on the fact that I have found one person claiming to have purchased and never received -- and no one claiming a good experience -- I'm going to say that it would be a very bad idea to buy from that site.

Besides, who would purchase a bicycle from a website that doesn't allow you to specify the size?

Haha check this out, they left the name of the site they stole the text from: https://www.bicyclefocus.com/2011-bmc...ke-p-1486.html
"Weight is approximate and is provided by Evans Cycles..."
