what the??

where did that thread that 53-11alltheway started go? the one about what gear ratios we all use. last time i saw it, it was mostly useful.

hmmmm.......

jamey 01-19-05 02:05 PM

yeah..i was just wondering the same exact thing. i thought maybe i had suddenly become ******** and couldn't find it.

ch0mb0 01-19-05 02:08 PM

maybe it got moved? or user deleted? was looking for it earlier for reference, but couldn't find any trace of it.

baxtefer 01-19-05 02:43 PM

all threads 53-11 seem to have been purged from the database.

he doesn't seem to exist in the road cycling forum either.
may i take this opportunity to say "woot"?

Next time I open my flask I'll be sure to pour some on the ground.

HereNT 01-19-05 03:36 PM

Amazing - I didn't even see the black vans with no windows and a chimney pumping smoke...

habitus 01-19-05 03:41 PM

wait wait wait. i feel there needs to be some explanation by the mods about this one. was he being sexist, racist...annoying?

baxtefer 01-19-05 03:52 PM

I think he finally bought a bike.

Joe Gardner 01-19-05 03:53 PM

I think it simply got to the point were he was no longer an asset to the forum, and we were losing quality members because of his BS. It was good timing, the same day I decided to put 53-11 on global ignore, he decided to give up his username. His current signature reads "53-11.........Yes, I was the biggest troll on Bike Forums. But I learned a lot....Thank you. I appreciated all your good insight in matters regarding cycling.".

His posts will be back, but not in the next week or so... :)

habitus 01-19-05 03:54 PM

thanks, joe.

bostontrevor 01-19-05 04:23 PM

The TGSFC was the best for sure.

No, no, it's nothing.. I just have a little something in my eye.

pitboss 01-19-05 04:50 PM

I say let this rock rest on the bottom. No reason to bring the posts back. We'd be using up valuable MERTON space potential

What is an accurate description of a troll? I know about 53-11 but I still don't quite get the true meaning of a troll?

"The well-constructed troll is a post that induces lots of newbies
and flamers to make themselves look even more clueless than they already
do, while subtly conveying to the more savvy and experienced that it is
in fact a deliberate troll."

i liked this part.....makes you wonder which is worse?

2manybikes 01-20-05 09:49 AM

Ah ha! Thanks, now I get it.

ink1373 01-20-05 12:25 PM

about the gears...the short version is that you want numbers that are relative primes.

if you want to make it even easier, just aim for having a chainring that is either 43 or 47 teeth (both prime numbers) and you'll get the maximum of 'skid spots'
