4 items of interest and one question.
1.) Practicing track stands on a ship at sea isn’t safe.
2.) You can fall into the over head.
3.) Wearing your helmet prevents dents on your head.
4.) Dents on your head won’t help with MPB.
5.) How do you store your camera in your bag with chain/lock/etc also in the bag?

William, I sew- so I'd be happy to make you a sub-bag.
Also, Crumpler has little sub-bags that you could put your camera in.
Lastley, you could use some closed-cell foam (such as the material used for hiker's padding on backpack trips) and glue it together with a good foam glue.
Helpful?

'Cause I'll be off by noon.
I'm looking forward to Island Ruckus 2005!! I got a few priorites there: ride, drinks, ride.. And harass anyone I know from the ship too.

Why not just get some PR tool to sew a camera bag for you? He might even make a safety net for you out of some parachute line for trackstand practice if you give him some boots or something.
