Un-clipping on a Fixed Gear

Un-clipping on a Fixed Gear
On a Single Speed or Geared bike i usually unclip my left foot before the bike comes to a complete stop while coasting. Obviously you can't do that on a fixed gear. So how do you unclip? Seems like you have to come to a complete stop before un-clipping. I'm sure there are many techniques but for a beginner, what is the best way?

unclip one foot, about 20 feet before your intended place to stop, while pedaling with your other foot, then turn your wheel opposite to the unlcipped foot when you are coming to a stop, lean towards your unclipped foot, and stand. Then unclip your other foot.

you can still pedal with one leg while the other is clipped in
some people even do that on purpose sometimes!

ou can dismount in the normal manner from a fixed-gear bicycle, but advanced fixed-gear riders might enjoy learning a special, very cool-looking dismount that can only be done from a fixed gear. Instead of getting off to the side of the bicycle, the fixed-gear rider can go straight off the back. This technique works best if you ride with clips and straps, but if you are really proficient in disengaging from clipless pedals, try it at your own risk.
As the bicycle slows to near walking speed, disengage your left foot, then wait for the right pedal to get to the bottom of its circle. As the right pedal starts to rise, straighten your right leg and let the motion of the pedal lift you up. Let go of the handlebars, let the saddle move forward between your legs, and put your left foot on the ground. As the bike goes ahead, grab it by the saddle.
It takes a bit of courage to try this, but it is actually very easy to do. It is also extremely impressive to watch. When executed properly, it is very smooth, and you can go from riding to walking in a single fluid motion, without ever coming to a stop.

as i come to a stop i unclip my left foot and set it to the pavement...
although the other night on a beer run after drinking for a bit, i came to a red light and fell over lolol. derp, but it was awesome because i landed so that the 32oz's in my backpack didnt break.

ur totally allowed to unclip before you come to stop
ur also totally allowed to continue pedalling with the other leg while youre unclipped and slowing down (or not)

i slow down to the point that the cranks are level, i stand up and unclip one foot, and use the bikes momentum to keep me rolling and have my opposite foot 6 'oclock and put the first foot down, then unclip the other if im getting off
same thing with clip/straps
might be hard to understand in type but it was the way i just intuitively learned on my own
