Need help looking for part
Hey everyone...my top tube length feels too long for me, I want to replace the stem... right now its a 1 inch threadless with a 2.5 inch reach and 25.4mm clamp. I'm looking for something that has the least reach as possible without having to use a shim for a 1 1/8 stem.
I've look at online shops such as jenson and nashbar and nothing matches all measurements. Just wanted to ask if their is something out there for what I'm looking for?

If your 60mm stem is too short, your bike is really too big for you. It may be easier to go with a swept back handlebar than to go with a shorter stem.

Would a better thread title be:
Looking for a short 1" threadless stem < 60mm
Or am I misunderstanding the Internet again?

That stem is about as short as you are going to find. Hard to tell what your problem is. Your frame may be too large, or maybe your saddle isn't positioned properly.

Your cog is slipping.
I think he's measuring wrong. As I posted above, one of those bikes belongs to the OP and neither one has a stem that short.

Your stem looks to be anywhere between 100-120mm, which is long for a smaller-sized bike with bullhorns.
BTW, you measure a stem's reach from the center of the top cap to the center of the handlebar clamp.

I am measuring wrong. But I did flip the stem and took a 20 mile ride yesterday and its a world of difference. I know I'm on the wrong size bike, I didn't do my homework and rushed buying something when I did. With the stem flipped it will hold me over till I can by a proper fitted bike. Thanks for all your input and advice.

Buying a shorter stem to fit you better is not very expensive. $20 or so will get you a decent enough stem until you can buy a new bike.
