Sunup to Sundown Ride
It's been a while since I've been on the SS FG forum. This year I have been riding MTB and vintage road bikes alot and neglecting my fixed gear for most of the summer. On Sunday I dusted it off and did a day long ramble.
The route http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/141857863 I started in North Bend soon after sunrise. Mt. Si in the background. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000258.jpg It was a cold and foggy morning. I climbed above the fog to warm up on Snoqualmie Ridge. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000261.jpg It was short lived, chilly fog again when I dropped down to the lower Snoqualmie Valley, riding westward along the Issaquah - Fall City Road. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000267.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000266.jpg The fog cleared for good by the time reached Bellevue. Here is the I90 trail in Bellevue. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000270.jpg I stop and look back across the floating bridge when I reach Seattle http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000274.jpg And looking back from Alki in West Seattle http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000277.jpg I have meant to stop many times before to take a photo of this artwork on a house in Alki. Today was the day http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000279.jpg |
Took the ferry over to Vashon island. I rode south along the east side of the Island. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000294.jpg
Along the way I stopped and visited briefly with my Brother and his son. The it was off to the south side to take the ferry back to Tacoma. While waiting for the ferry, I snapped a few photos.http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000299.jpghttp://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000305.jpg http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000298.jpg Point Defiance in Tacoma. Thanks WSF http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000308.jpg I am now out of my comfort zone. I don't know this area very well but eventually I make my way thru Tacoma and up north to Bellevue and then head east, shadows getting long. I know I am running out of daylight. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000311.jpg Out comes the phone to call my wife for a pickup in Issaquah about 20 miles or so short of home. I wait for her at the Issaquah Brewhouse. An Ice cold IPA is a fitting end to a day like this. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...d/P1000315.jpg I had forgotten how much I like riding my fixed gear. |
