New Wheel for BD Windsor Clockwork

I'm new to cycling and I bought a single speed, windsor clockwork, from bikes direct for a good economical choice for getting started. I love riding the bike and I believe it's quality suits my needs fine. I only ride 20-30 miles at a time and I don't have any complaints about it. But unfortunately I backed over the rear wheel and it has a good bend in it that is just too annoying to ride with. I have to widen the break pads real wide and it just has so much wobble it feels inefficient. What would be the best option to replace the wheel, when I go to to the LBS most wheels cost nearly a 3rd as much as the bike. But maybe it's worth the upgrade, I don't know. I plan on riding road bikes for a time to come so maybe a quality wheel or wheel set would be a good investment and in the future I could upgrade to a better bike and I already have quality wheels. Thanks for advice

Is the wheel damaged beyond being trued?

sounds repairable to me.

If not, only you can decide if you should invest in some higher cush wheels at this point. I wouldn't buy nicer wheels. I would wait to find a used one for $50.

A shop might charge you $30 to fix the wheels as it stands. You could probably sell it to someone for that.

Whatever you do, you can probably be riding again for $20. Or you can buy a new wheel.

I've been told it's not repairable. But maybe the shop just wanted me to buy a new wheel. I've tried truing it but it's got a pretty significant wobble that I can't get out.

Where do you find used ones? Craigslist and ebay?

As was stated, post up a video, because if you are still able to ride on it (which is how it sounds from your post), it should be repairable (as was stated).

If not, a quick eBay search resulted in a few $60 and $80 rear wheels. You could also contact Velomine or Retrogression to inquire about just a rear wheel (neither site has just the rear advertised, but it shouldnt be too difficult to acquire one).

If you have a co-op in your area they will most likely be able to assist you in finding a used wheel.
