Aluminum Forks
Random question for you all. Does anyone actually make an aluminum fork? Seems that even Al frames come with Steel forks, and from what I can remember, I've never come across one. Are the only fork options Aluminum & Carbon?

I had one on a Novara road bike many years ago. It was awful.

The Leader aluminum fork is terrible. Aluminum forks are terrible.

Just, harsh basically? Was thinking they might be more brittle or prone to failure, but it could just be that they're crap?

i have a kinesis 6061 1" threaded.
same fork different rake as what came on the GT Pulse before they put steel on it. or after. or inbetween.

I had a bonded Kensis on a 90's bonded Miata, It was a little harsh but i've ridden all steel bikes with a harsher ride. But I never rode it long distance and I believe the smooth ride came from the fact the whole bike was a clapped rather than the fork being any good, the only reason i could see keeping an aluminum fork today would be if i had asweet bonded frame and i wanted to keep every period correct, but would never buy one with my own money.
Unless they started making them in Krazy-Anodized-Kolourz, that would be beyond rad.

Was looking at building up a 90's gt frame for a winter beater, they all have 6-68mm suspension, or steel forks (neither of which would hold up to the elements in New England). Thought an aluminum fork would make a nice addition. Plus.... Purple Ano, mmmmmm.

Here.
have had two, no complaints.
One of which I rode the hell out of, (Stair sets, multiple crashes including 2 with cars), and although I've since sold it, I know the current owner still uses it regularly.
