Anyone ever seen a Destato?
Hey
A friend of my family ran his own bike company/team for a while in the 80s. The bikes were made by Steelman here in CA and were branded "Destato." There was one listed on ebay just as I was getting into fixed gear that I naively underbid (at $700) and I havnt seen one since. Our family friend had his last one or two stolen out of his garage a few years ago. If anyone has seen one recently or know where ones for sale, please let me know? A Steelman would be a nice addition to the stable and its family ties are a nice gloss on the whole thing.
Thanks

Even though this is a bit dated, I recently just got a Destato frameset off eBay. It was built by Steelman in 85, I think, for Ernemo Ferrelli. Both signatures are on either side of the top tube. Pretty gnarly 80s paint job, maroon to white to yellow. If anyone has any more information on the bikes or brand I'd love to hear it. It even has a tab on the underside of the top tube near the steerer for putting your racing # on, pretty cool touch.

Dude did the right thing searching before the post; you just can't win in BFSSFG.
Hey nocash, OP already said the thread was dated.

I just bought the same race bike just described, it is very cool. Just put it on ebay I was told it was the team breckenridge 1985 bike. It's hard to find much info. From
