Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

First Single Speed and it is fun. I spin out on the flats it is a 42 / 16 no headwind. Have not tried hills yet but ran into strong headwinds but was manageable.

Not aero, just braking from the drops. They're definitely not in the intended position (see post #1367), but it's all personal preference so if it works for you it's all good.

Is your front rim braking surface bent or is that just a glitch in the picture?

My first fixed gear. I got it for free as a basket case. New tape, straps, headset, brake, chain rings, and back tire. 42/16 turns out to be a little too slow for me but it sure does make hills easy!

Legnano frame from ebay built up with parts knocking round the shed. Quite happy with the result. Not ridden it far yet though!

Frame by a local Dutch bike-maker, parts from my previous frame that was too big. This one fits finally!

Well done. Though I don't understand why you wouldn't have your framebuilder add a couple braze ons for a bottle cage.

I'm loving all the SS CX bikes in here. I'll post my Sycip when I get it back together and ready for race season.
