Nice. I was gonna whine about your bar angle, but I'll bet it's pretty comfy at that height.

The bar angle and height is the inevitable result of getting old. I'll give up street cred points for comfort any day.

Got a new Wabi front wheel for the Soma Rush to replace the quick release road wheel I borrowed from my old geared roadie. I contacted Robert at Wabi three weeks ago about needing a front wheel and he was able to make one up for me last weekend with a new style rim he'll be using on future wheels. The new rims are similar to the old ones with some subtle differences that I think are an improvement. The black color is now glossy instead of matte, gone is the thin black groove in the middle of the machined braking area, the bottom of the rim is squared off instead of pointed and the rim is narrower by more than 1 mm.

Got the Panaracer Pasela TG 27 x 1-1/4 gumwall tires for my vintage French mercier SS conversion. I originally used 700C tubulars, but it just didn't look right on a bike that originally sported 27 x 1-1/4 tires. The wheels were sourced from Velomine and sport Sun CR18 rims on Origin 8 (Formula) sealed hubs. The wheels and tires are very close to the originals in appearance. The freewheel is an ACS Crossfire 22T x 3/32. The rest of the bike is original, except for the seatpost and saddle. The pedals are authentic Lyotard NOS replacements for the badly damaged originals. I also retaped the handlebar and replaced the brake cables and housings. The Pletscher rack did not come with the bike, but is correct for the period. The first photo shows the previous setup with tubular wheels and the last one shows the condition of the bike when I bought it.

That's what I'm thinking. If so, there should be a label on the inside under the rim tape.

I didn't bother to remove the rim tape before I installed the tire.

I just got a new handlebar and stem from our friends over at retrogression.

So far it rides so much better than my last setup.

Bars that low would actually be illegal according to UCI regulations.
