Yo, peep zane13's comment two posts back! He found the screws and hanger bracket thingies that he removed from his Langster and is willing to mail them to you. To answer your question about how allen screws hang the brake cable: the brake cable is run through these plastic cable guides with a loop for the allen screw to go through.

Thanks! I dig it too.
How does an allen head screw hang the brake cable? I bought the bike second hand and it had the brakes and cables removed. I was told it was easy to get the part but it's not, I don't even know what I'm looking for but my specialized dealer told me they won't stock them until november!
I bought the bike second hand with no brakes. I installed my own TRP R920 brakes and TRP RRL levers. Does the stock 2012 langster have a special brake cable for the rear?
I couldn't agree more. I went from a 2010 to the 2012 and while it weighs a bit more in the frame the stiffness and handling have increased a LOT. I love the idea that I'm riding a Single Speed Aluminum Tarmac!

Yeah slam, I found the cable guides and screws so if you want them I'll drop them in the mail Monday to you. I won't be needing them and surprised I even kept them. Must have just scooped everything up into the bag with the stock parts I didn't use on my Langster. And I agree, it's the road frame look that sold me on the new Langster as well.
I can't wait to clip these zip ties that are holding it together now! Here is a picture from yesterdays climbing.

The main selling points on the Langster for me were: it's an aluminum frame with track geometry, the 52.5mm bottom bracket drop (with the 52) and two sets of bottle cage mounts. I do also like the road bike aesthetic it has. I'm basically a "track bike roadie", since I ride on the road more than the track. Haha!!

Just grabbed this today at my LBS. 1973 Raleigh Grand Prix. It's not a fixie yet. I've got to change the hub and probably the rims along with a few other things. Most of it's original.

Finally just got my first single speed, at least since I was a kid! Feels so good to be back on a bike. I picked up this Surly Cross Check cheap off craigslist and had it built up with some nice parts. Originally I was thinking about having a frame made, but I always loved this color from Surly, so when it came up in my size, I grabbed it.
I know the saddle is tilted way up, but supposedly this is good for the break in period. or am I mistaken? Anyhow, I'm loving it.

Very nice bike! I love the color, and you did use some nice parts. What crankset is that? Shoot, just give me a list of what all you used. I love it all

Hey thanks! I'm really psyched with how it turned out. The crankset is Paul's circles and the wheel set is Phil hubs on H+Sons rims and 28mm Pasela tour guards. That's where I put most of my budget. The rest is mostly Velo Orange stuff headset, stem, seat post, handle bars and brakes, plus tektro cross levers. I tried to go with as much silver as possible since I thought it would look nice against the blue.

I'm selling this one - but until it sells, I'll be rolling around in style.
