Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? For the most part basic tools, Nintendo 3DS XL, lights, wallet, keys, and phone.

However my canvas saddle bag is rather conservative at a capacity of 4 liters. Others get up into the 10+ liter range.

Wow, that new bike you're planning to build is going to be like riding a bike for the first time again for you.

yeah, it seems like a good improvement. Man, you really love your bike, good going with the hard work. I earlier got a bike but I wasn't satisfied with it but to be honest I am not a nerd in bikes, I am therefore planning to get a new one, probably this :

Thanks guys! Yeah, I love my current bike but I am very excited about the new bike, I am sure the new one will be an absolute beauty after the good advice I recieved here.

Nice bike Carl.. they don't sell those here in Australia - I'd probably build my own anyway I enjoy it as much as riding

Huff that is a surf board lock so I have to wrap it snug and lock the bike up next to a more expensive, equally poorly locked bike each time. It is definitely only to ward off opportunists.

Besides if someone steals it, then I'll have to order my new bike straight away!

NerUame, you are doing a great job, I have no doubt that you could build an amazing bike, but if you want in Australia, you could get that from https://www.criticalcycles.com/. You might wanna check for some cool stuff. God forbid, if someone steals that bike of yours.

My newest SS bike. Just got it late yesterday and it's totally stock. It was only $169.95 as part of a cyber holiday sale, and it's a screamin' deal IMO.

As someone who owns a critical, let me just say you get what you pay for.
The wheels aren't true, the tires wear out quickly, the brake pads lasted a day, and you're going to want new pedals/straps the second you get the bike put together.

I like my bike, but I also understand why it was 220 dollars shipped.

With all of the Christmas deals going on right now, you can probably get your hands on something a bit better without paying a lot more.
State Bicycle Co has their bikes on sale for 299 today with free shipping, and those seem quite a bit nicer than what I'm riding.
Fyxation has had some decent deals.
Or save up and try to get your hands on the Kilo TT that everyone recommends around here.

Speed, Elegance and Sophistication,...

Just kiddin, scored this here 80's steel 56cm road bike last night for a staggering 15 bucks, she's a beast, strip down began immediately. I threw on a set of 26" coaster wheels with some blue Origin 8 tires, a 52t Crown Japan crank sprocket and 18t rear, cleaned and repacked all the bearings, fun little quick build, bike is actually smooth, fast and fun to ride. Thought i'd throw something out there for you guys to sneer and poke fun of. Weighs in at a modest 26.2 lbs.

$15 would have bought a rack of beer here. The rack would weigh less and be more fun.

Yes, but just think of how fast I will be when I get on a super lite track bike after many miles on this heavy b**tard,...

Some more pics of the Windsor Clockwork now that the skies have cleared and there's some sunlight. The color is a very dark glittery purple, that looks quite nice. I changed the stock pedals out with BMX platforms that were takeoffs from my SE Draft Coaster. Eventually I'll get some nicer silver MKS touring pedals and better tires. I also changed the stock 16T freewheel with an 18T from my parts bin.
