Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

How to tell if real Bianchi Super Pista?

Hey, i'm supposed to be checking out a Bianchi Super Pista frameset in celeste

what should be on the bottom of the bottom bracket spot?

I just want to be careful since a lot of people sell crap like leaders with bianchi stickers or claim VISP china bikes as leaders out here in socal.
or the Unknown v1's or w/e as high end bikes.

what should I look for, any tells?

stickers are there, but owner has a bunch of other stupid stickers on it
like OBEY and SUPREME clothing brand ones

anything actually stamped, or cut into the metal rather than just stickers which are removable?

Boil it for 6 minutes. If it's aldente, it's genuine Italian pasta, if it's soggy, it's just cheap Chinese noodles.

sorry mate, don't know the real answer

One easy way to tell is that it won't be drilled for a rear brake.

Fair go Scrod. Sure, your information is correct, but the replies from the rif raf are much more creative ... if less usefull.

If it's in good condition $550 is ok. Its not that hard to tell if it's real, they only come in 3 colors, if you need extra help hit up google images and print out some pics to bring with you.

If you can't tell the difference between a Super Pista and a Leader/VISP you don't deserve to own one.

While I'm flexible on the term "deserve," I agree with the sentiment here.

I'm sure the OP appreciates the complete absence of anything constructive here.

Just google images, spend half an hour looking at pics. Look for the details and you'll be good.

rear dropout won't be oversized bull**** with the axle higher than the center of the chainstay(visp), and it won't be drilled through for a fender.(leader)

and the rear brake.

and it won't say "Bianchai"
