Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

So I've decided to rent a piano... I now have a 48" tall Kawai upright in my bedroom for $75/month.

The digital piano I own is very nice, but a real piano is nicer to hear, nicer to play, and makes the room much nicer to be in... overall it's a big quality of life upgrade that I'm very happy with. I already play more.

Now it's time for me to actually practice instead of just play/jam all the time (I'm a jazz pianist). There are some Chopin and Debussy pieces that are very dear to me that are gonna take some work for me to play.

This is an album from an old prog rock band. You've probably never heard of them...

Been listening to Hugh Laurie's new album Didn't it Rain. For a Brit he does the blues like a true southerner.

edit- And I just noticed that video was filmed by Ross Harris, who did all my favorite Elliott Smith videos.

Between June and September, I almost exclusively listen to 90's hiphop and RnB.
In other news, since you may be interested, the new Deltron album finally has a release date (October 1) and it is BANANAS.

So excited for this release. 2013 has been a good year for music so far.
