Guess I have to get the Nitto shim then... Just noticed that the bars are slipping, the can shims are staying in place and do not slip against the stem if that makes any difference.

Also, don't over torque your stem bolts.

Why would you buy a new stem instead of just buying a proper shim?

I don't know, I was worried that a proper shim still wouldn't work for some unknown reason. But I came to my senses and plan on getting a Nitto shim. Scrod you think I should sand the paint of the part bars that is clamped? The white paint is very smooth and I feel like this could contribute to a lack of grip.

What do I risk breaking over torquing the stem? If the bars are no good anymore than that's a bummer :/
