Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Hub spoke hole

n00b checking in. I will be doing my first build. Essentially I was gonna buy a wheelset that is already laced. I think doing it myself would be a great learning experience. However, I've done a lot of searching and did not find what I was looking for. What size hub hole would one recommend on the front wheel? I'm leaning towards a 32 hole high flange in the rear but wasn't as confident for the front. I want to save some weight but what do?

What kind of riding do you do? How are your streets? Are you especially strong?

Bike is mostly for commuting/leisure. I live in Chicago so the roads are mostly flat however there are potholes. As far as strength, I can hold my own. I was a powerlifter but stopped training. Squatted 315 atg.
