Help determining size differentiation between SURLY Steamroller and CINELLI Gazzetta
Hello! First post:
I'm currently riding a Surly Steamroller, 56cm, and it feels a little small and awkward at times (this might be because my last bike was a 58cm Marin Ignacio).
I have a Cinelli Gazzetta frame, size 58cm which I'm currently building up and I'm trying to determine what the difference in size would be.
I'm roughly 6' tall and have a long torso with an inseam around 32"
Here's the geometry of both bikes, via brands' websites:
Surly Steamroller
Cinelli Gazzetta
It looks like certain dimensions on the Cinelli Gazzetta 58cm are actually a bit smaller than the Surly Steamroller 56cm frame, am I interpreting this correctly?
It definitely appears like the Gazzetta has tighter angles than the Steamroller too.
I suppose the heart of this post is: do y'all think this Gazzetta 58cm frame would the best fit for someone who's 6' tall with a 32" inseam?
Thank you,
Nate

Hah, the TT on the Gazzetta is only 565.
Did you check the geo before buying?
No we can't tell you if it'll fit better based on your inseam. However, based on you saying the Steamroller feels small, so will the Gazzetta.

I've done a crude comparison (i.e. measuring and lining up the Gazzetta frame to the built Steamroller) and the main differences are taller seat and head tubes on the Gazzetta 58cm - still seems just as compact as the 56cm Surly though.
I did research on the size differentiation before purchasing; and just like bicycle specs., the internets offers so many different answers. I probably should have pro fitting done at a local brick and mortar shop at some point. But I just felt so much more comfortable on my previous 58cm Marin bike, so I went with my instinct and ordered a 58cm frame.

You didn't do wrong getting a 58, if that's what you're more comfortable on. You did wrong with not actually checking the geo. The Gazzetta has a short TT.
It seems that when you lined up the Steamroller and Gazzetta, you ignored the most important factor when it comes to bike sizing... the top tube.
Not much you can do now since you've already bought the frame. Just build it up, get a bike fit, and hope they don't just tell you to get a new frame.

The more I study it, the more confident I am that the 58cm frame will work out better. Kinda weird how short the top tube on the larger-sized Gazzetta is though - guess it's more of a track build than the Surly? I researched the Marin archives and it turns out I must of have been riding a 59cm Ignacio anyway, so I'm def. not worried about the Gazzetta being too B I G now...
I should have it built up in three more weeks, and thanks for the sage advice Jaytron.

Get a fitment when it's built!
I suspect that you'll need a bigger frame. I ride a 56 and I'm about 5'10~5'11 (but my bikes have fairly long stems)
