Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Build my wheel and I get you drunk!

I'm looking to convert my bike into a fixed gear, and I want to do it cheap and fun. I don't know anyone in the fixie world. Build my wheel and I'll buy the drinks. Thx, Kearns

i'll build you a wheel,
but i'm sure there are people in frisco that will do it cheaper (no shipping) than me
i would say, just buy a real wheel from IRO, tony's great and its worth the few bucks extra.

You'll get me drunk? It would be cheaper to just buy a wheel

Heh, I'd do it for you but I'm in LA. Actually I'd probally bring you to bicycle kitchen and let you do it yourself. Give a man a built wheel he'll ride for a while, teach a man to lace his own wheels and he'll ride for a lifetime.
